Forum Rules and FAQs

This thread contains the forum rules, tips on how to post and various other things. It's recommended that you read the full post before engaging in the forums.
Rules:
- Try to make sure that you start new threads in the most relevant forum category.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Kindly do not create posts with nothing but a link. It is recommended that you first give a summary of what you want to share and then give the link.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Nobody would have a problem if you promote your own things, but wait until you have contributed something useful (posts-wise) to the forums.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Don't create threads about random news. Anything more than one thread per day that is from a news source will be deleted.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Personal attacks against people, or sites will not be tolerated.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Don't spam the forum with nothing but a link to your own site or affiliate links.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- The Administrators and Moderators of the forums have the final say on what is appropriate and what is not.[/*:m:3r9554v1]

So, if you are not ending up doing one of the following, you are not breaking the forum rules:
- Duplicating threads.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Spamming the forums with nothing but a link to your own site or affiliate links. Affiliate links are allowed in signatures, but they are not allowed in posts.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Running up post count/post has no value Posts such as "pm sent", "lol" or any other useless post that does not contribute to the forum or the thread is considered a post that has no value. Posting numerous "welcome to the forum" posts in the Introductions forum is also considered post padding or running up your post count.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Creating inappropriate (adult, abusive) posts/threads.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Starting thread in the wrong catagory.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Using inappropriate language.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Attacking or harassing other members of the forum.[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Spamming[/*:m:3r9554v1]
- Duplicating accounts[/*:m:3r9554v1]
What are Posts and Threads?
What you are reading right now is a post. Posts are contained inside threads (threads are topics; for example, this post is contained in the "Introductions" thread).
Signature Links
The maximum signature lenght can be 255 characters. You can add up to 3 links and 4 smilies in your signature. The maximum image width can be 300px. No flash items allowed.
Our tip: Sharing your links is signatures is good but research has shown that those with a greater number of posts have a better clickthough of links in their signatures. So keep posting!

Zero Tolerance for Spam
HCK.IN Forums were created with the purpose of helping others, discussing hacking and security and providing a nurturing environment for improving our skills. The forum should not be used as a promotion tool.
Spammers may be warned, infracted or banned at our discretion.
HCK.IN Forums' Rights
HCK.IN Forums and its assigned agents reserve the right to remove a post that does not relate to the topic being discussed in the forum. In addition, HCK.IN Forums reserves the right to organize discussion forums in order to best serve the majority of our members. For example, narrow-interest or minimal activity topics may, at HCK.IN Forums's discretion, be relocated to a more appropriate discussion forum, or deleted entirely.
HCK.IN Forums or its assigned agents also reserves the right to prohibit or delete discussions that are thought to violate applicable law or that may be harmful to other members, the sites that comprise HCK.IN Forums, or the rights of HCK.IN Forums or others. That said, HCK.IN Forums does not have the practical ability to restrict conduct or communications that might violate these Guidelines or the Terms of Service prior to transmission on the Web, nor can we guarantee prompt removal of offending discussion forum posts.
We also reserve the right to remove your membership from the HCK.IN Forums should you violate the Community Guidelines.
