How-to Check if your Anti-virus is working or not

This simple test will tell you if your anti-virus is working or not.

1)Open notepad.

2)Paste the following code

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

3)Save the file as fakevirus.exe

If this file gets deleted immediately it means that the antivirus is working but if it doesn't get deleted you should check your antivirus.

Note:The file is a legitimate DOS program, and produces sensible results when run (it prints the message "EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!").
