Where are the browser's 'saved passwords' stored?

I have a website which I visit regularly and am logged in to it always, so that I don't have to type the password everytime, I have save the password with the browser's remember password feature.

Unfortunately, due to that I forgot the password, but obviously the login information has to be stored somewhere on my computer. Is it possible to figure out the password by opening a file or do I have to install any software?

    If you are using Firefox:
Select Preferences > Security > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords.

If you are using Internet Explorer(IE):
Use PStoreView to view all the stored information that IE keeps around when you select 'remember password'.
