Pismo won't startup after setting real-mode?
I had have a problem with My firewire not being recognized by My Powerbook G3 Pismo and was playing around in Open Firmware and set the Real-mode? to true with setenv but after doing this I can't do anything anymore.
Tried to reset nvram with Command-Option-P-R but that doesn't work.
I also can not get into the open firmware anymore and if that's not all I can not reset the PMU with the reset button on the back.
I got this Pismo several Months ago after My own Pismo died and it worked well until I connected it to My Pc with a Firewire cable and started up in Target Disk Mode.
Since then The firewire Ext. Disk could not be seen by the Pismo, but when I reset-all in Open Firmware it showed up but then The pismo got very slow even though the Processor seemed to be idle, program start-ups,working in Finder,it all got slow but after I reset the nvram in Open Firmware it would be Ok again but not the firewire, not working again, doesn't show up in System profiler.
But,now I am really stuck, when I press the startup button it start up,hear the startup sound but then the screen stays just blank (black) although the disk is spinning yet without reading writing.
Is there another way to reset-all reset the powerbook?
I already tried to disconnect the power-battery and the Pram battery but still nothing. Any Help would be of great help. I know its an old computer but it still works and I don't have the dough for a new one.
Cheers Perry.

Try booting into safe mode. Apple Support
